Yesterday we spent the whole day at Lagoon. We had not been before and I saw online that this week you could get in 2 for 1 if you mentioned the 2 News special. You can't really get a better deal than that so Cory came home after putting in some early morning hours and we all went. The kids had a blast. There are a lot of kid friendly rides there, the coasters are definitely not as big or fun as they are at Hershey Park but we were not really there for that since the kids don't want to go upside down. Cory and I both started feeling a little queezy after riding the big ferris wheel. The kids really wanted to ride it. I think I must be afraid of heights when I'm not securely buckled into some contraption. I felt better after the next ride though. Cory had just ridden the scrambler with the kids before and it may have done him in. He apparently gets motion sickness pretty easily. He has gotten sick on several occasions in the past involving boats and amusement parks. He didn't barf yesterday but he didn't ride anymore rides until right before we left. He was just a happy resting  observer until right before we left. We all rode the train, rapids and log ride and got wet. We were prepared to get wet though. We went over to the pool and water slides for a bit. We just splashed around in the kiddie area though. The water was freezing. Lidia and Aiden were scared of the giant water slides. Tristan wanted to but was too small. It was a fun yet tiring day. I wouldn't get a season pass though. I can't imagine going every year much less several times a year. I'd rather do something else like go for a hike or something and just let the kids explore nature.

new ward

So our stake just changed all of the ward boundaries and we are now in a new ward. Starting this Sunday we will go to church at 11 instead of 9 in the same building and the kids will now go to church with kids that go to their school. These things are good. I really did not like how the kids were not as close with the other kids at church because all the others go to school together. Also the later time may make it a bit easier to get there on time and with kids that are not quite as grumpy. The only thing that's odd is that our new ward is a long narrow strip only about 3 houses deep but runs all the way across our stake boundaries. All of the other wards are more like rectangles above and below us. So Aiden's pal Caed who lives only two houses away will still not be in our ward but Lidia's friend Christal will be so that's good and they will probably recognize some kids from school Sunday. I wonder what our new callings will be. We are only having sacrament meeting this week. I guess the bishopric will be busy reorganizing everything. Anyway, I'm glad for the change and now we have a lot of new people to meet and get to know since only about 10 homes from my old ward are in this new one with me and I was just beginning to figure out who those people were. Aiden's school teacher for this year will be in our ward. I wonder how he will like that. The kids are counting down the days until school starts (so am I). Tristan is cute and so excited to be a first grader and to get to be at school the whole school day and eat lunch and have recess and all. He also informed me today that he wants to be an OBGYN when he grows up. He says he wants to get the babies out. Poor Cory is still adjusting to the time change. He's back running again and trying to do things but he pretty much falls into a deep sleep any time he sits down. I think he's functioning OK at work at least. I think Avery and I will have to come visit him at work some once school starts and we can work out in the gym together. I've seriously got to loose like 15 pounds. Time to start counting calories and working out.

My Hubby is Home, Hooray!!!

We somehow survived a month with Cory in Taiwan. Video chatting on Skype helped soo much. I am feeling mentally drained but with Cory back I'm sure I'll be recharged in no time. The kids are so happy to have their dad home and I am thrilled to have my other half back. The kids made a poster and put streamers up in the garage to welcome him home. We also ran to Macy's on the way to the airport to get him a dress shirt and dress shoes for his birthday(we missed while he was away)/ anniversary gift. Cory brought us back lots of cool things. The kids, except Avery, wore their clothes to church today. Aiden speaks what Mandarin Cory has taugt him while wearing it. He loves it. I wore one of the shirts he got me and my jade necklace and earrings which are my anniversary gift. Today is our 12th. Cory is tired but adjusting to the time change pretty well. If you can tell that my eye looks a little puffy or bruised it's because Avery slammed his head right into my brow bone the other day. It hurts pretty bad if it gets touched or if I shut my eyes too tight. Avery also threw a block at Tristan the other day and cut his head. Tristan's head was bleeding and Aiden was crying asking me if he was going to die. It was only about a 3 inch stream of blood before it clotted up so I knew it wasn't bad. I just wiped it up and it was fine. I'm glad Aiden was worried about his brother and I've got to work on getting Avery to be a bit more kind and careful.

davis county fair

The kids and I met Carrie and her kids at the Davis county fair today. They don't have near as much livestock as weber but they had two tents full of fun activities for the kids. One was the science tent and the other was just fun stuff geared to smaller kids. they all had fun in both. The kids also liked all the goats. Tristan and Aiden are so excited because they got to hold a real tarantula and scorpion and millipede and pet snakes and lizards and tortoise. There was a pet show going on before we left. They met a great dane and a snake etc. I highlighted our hair this week. Lidia is very proud of her highlights.

I took the kids out to the fairgrounds to see the animals yesterday. They had a good time, even in the heat. We didn't have time to stick around for the youth rodeo finals. Davis county fair is next week. Maybe I'll take them to the rodeo Friday night and to see the other stuff during the day on Wednesday or some time. I hate carnival rides so we skip that part but it's fun to walk around and see the exhibits and animals and tractors. We just saw animals yesterday. There were a lot to see though.

BYU Earth Science Museum

Since Heather is here visiting we have been out sightseeing this week. She had never been to Utah before now. We went to Temple Square and went in all the buildings and all. The Conference center tour was fun. It was also neat to go up to the observation deck of the church office building. Visibility is not so great right now b/c of all the fires but it was still good. I didn't take any pics out and about. These are from Lidia. Heather took lots and will post some to her blog later I imagine. We also went down to Provo. I showed them all the dumpy places Cory and I used to live in and we drove around campus and went in the Art Museum then walked over to the bookstore. We also went in the little Earth Science museum. We didn't walk all over campus. It was 104 degrees outside. We went to visit Carolyn at her house and on the way home drove by Bridal Veil Falls. The fire is still burning above it so we couldn't go for a walk by it or anything. Even the parking lot was closed. When we were at Carolyn's house we saw a fire on the mountain in Payson that had just started and was a lot bigger when we left later. Darn forest fires ruining the pretty scenery.
